Extending the Dream Grants

Extending the Dream is a fund that enables members of SACAC to establish and pay for special projects in their communities.  The Extending the Dream grant is awarded annually and serves college bound students.  Many recipients of the grant have served as advocates for creating pathways to college by pushing the limits on college access and increasing awareness about the college search process.  The ultimate goal is to make the dream of attending college a reality.

The recipients and proposed projects for the 2011-12 fiscal year include:

• Early College Awareness Program (ECAP) hosted by The University of Tennessee Office of Undergraduate Admissions
• College Tours hosted by Essential2Life
• ACT Prep hosted by The Soulsville Charter School
• ACT Workshop hosted by Get2College Center
• College Tours hosted by The Get2College Center
• College Discovery Seminars hosted by Robin Groelle.

Grants typically range from $500 to $3700. To apply, complete the Extending the Dream Grant Application.  The deadline for 2012 applications is April 6th.  For more information on this program, please contact Anita Alston:
