Re: SACAC Secondary School Counselor Travel Assistance Program
The Southern Association for College Admission Counseling will hold its annual conference in Little Rock, Arkansas on April 12-15, 2008 and we would like as many members as possible to attend.
For several years SACAC has offered financial assistance to counselors who might not be able to come to the conference because of budget constraints. We do this through the Counselor Participation Fund.
The conference registration and information will be available on the web site in January 2008; however, to complete the enclosed SACAC Conference Travel Assistance Request Form by our deadline, it may be helpful to know some of the costs involved. The registration fee will be paid for you as part of your grant. This includes all regular sessions, the President’s Reception, Conference Luncheon, Conference Social, and Business Meeting Breakfast. Pre-conference workshops carry an extra fee. Room rates at the Peabody are $149.00 per night plus tax. The Counselor Participation Fund will cover 1/2 the cost of a room per night at the conference hotel or ¼ of the cost of a room at another hotel. Please indicate your travel costs. SACAC uses the lowest available coach airfare and/or the approved SACAC mileage rate of .45 cents/mile.

If you wish to apply for travel assistance to this professionally fulfilling and entertaining conference, please fill out the enclosed form. We would like to notify recipients of their awards as soon as possible.
Please return the Travel Assistance Request Form to me at the address listed on the form by January 1, 2008 postmark or email receipt.
