The SACAC Inclusion, Access, & Success (IAS) Committee supports underserved and underrepresented students and the professionals that work with them by creating programming and access to resources that focus on college preparation and admission application process. As such, we provide outreach services to schools and students lacking a structured college planning program.
Virtual Book Clubs
These book discussions offer members the opportunity to engage in conversations surrounding issues of equity and inclusion in our respective fields and communities. View the SACAC calendar for any currently scheduled discussions.
Annual Conference Service Project
During the SACAC Annual Conference, the IAS Committee will sponsor a service project in which college admission professionals will partner with local outreach organizations to facilitate a college planning workshop for students and parents.
College Access Workshops
To promote post-secondary access and opportunities to first generation and/or underserved students, the committee organizes College Access Workshops, free, one-day, interactive and informative college planning workshops for high school students from underrepresented and underserved populations. College admission professionals from institutions across the country will lead workshops designed to help students navigate the college application process. Topics covered include:
- The College Search Process
- Standardized Testing
- Completing Applications
- Writing Essays
- Financial Aid
- College Athletics
