The Governance and Nominating Committee shall have the duty and authority to nominate one or more qualified individuals for each elective office of the Association to be filled at each annual meeting of the membership of the Association, in accordance with the nomination procedures prescribed by the SACAC Bylaws. SACAC is committed to fostering diversity across all dimensions, including geographic, ethnic, gender, and institutional representation. Neither the chairperson nor any member of the Governance and Nominating Committee shall be eligible for nomination to any office of the Association during their service on the Governance and Nominating Committee.
In addition, the Governance and Nominating Committee will also select persons to receive named awards of the Association.
The Governance and Nominating Committee will conduct an annual review of the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation of the Association.
SACAC Board Service Applications & Annual Awards Nominations

To participate in the Board Service opportunities:
- If these roles don't resonate with you at this time, consider nominating a fellow member who embodies the spirit of our organization and who would be a great leader in one of the aforementioned roles. Submit the Board Nomination Form by December 18, 2026 (A nomination is not required to apply for a Board position). The Governance & Nominating Committee will contact the nominee and provide them information about applying.

- Current members of the SACAC Board or the Governance and Nominating Committee are not eligible to receive awards.
- The deadline for award nominations is January 18, 2027.
The Governance and Nominating Committee will carefully review all nominees for the President-Elect, Board Director positions, and awards. A slate of nominated officers will be presented to the membership at least 30 days before the SACAC Conference in April 2027, where the member vote on the proposed slate will occur and award recipients will be announced.
