Program Overview
The SACAC Leads program is designed to develop informed, committed, and qualified leaders for the organization and the broader profession. SACAC Leads prepares and motivates participants to provide intentional, dynamic leadership within the member states. All participants are encouraged to have been active participants in SACAC or another regional affiliate for at least five years. Faculty applicants are encouraged to have at least ten years of experience and significant past or present leadership within SACAC or another regional affiliate.
The inaugural SACAC Leads program will run from January – June 2021. Participants will be encouraged to engage in SACAC events within their respective home states when possible to include Legislative Day, Drive-in Workshop, and/or Mini Camp College.

SACAC Leads Sample Agenda
January – Opening virtual retreat which will focus on team building, leadership styles, and goal setting. Participants will be divided into four project teams in which they will address an issue within our region and work to address it over the course of their commitment.
February – “What, Who and Why of SACAC” webinar
March – Virtual roundtable book discussion
April – “Barriers to Student Success” webinar and discussion
May – “Effective Communication with Students” webinar and discussion
June – “Challenges in Student Recruitment” webinar and discussion
July – Program graduation; Next steps – where do I go from here?
